The 10 Commandments for modern day.

If you get offended by religious based ideas then please, read no further.
Have a great weekend and drop by another day to read another post.

If you do continue reading then please don't get your undies all in a knot by me referring to God, as She. I don't think She minds that I do that so you shouldn't either.

The following article was emailed to me a long, long time ago. Even though about 10 years have sped by since I first read it, I feel that it still applies today.
(Please note that I have made word changes to #6 and to #10, only to be more unisex and to #2 with changing the word Honour to Respect...same meaning just more updated.)

I want to give kudos to the Cross Trails Church in Fairlie, Texas for sharing and posting this on the web.

So after all of that here I go with the actual post:

People here in Texas have trouble with all those shalls and shall nots in the 10 commandments. Folks here just aren't used to talking in those terms. So, some folks out in west Texas got together and translated the "King James" into "King Ranch" language: These are the Ten Commandments, cowboy style.

1: Just one God
2: Respect yer Ma & Pa.
3: No telling tales or gossiping.
4: Git yourself to Sunday meeting.
5: Put nothing before God.
6: No fooling around with another fellow's gal (or another gal's fellow).
7: No killing.
8: Watch your mouth.
9: Don't take what ain't yours.
10: Don't be hankering for someone else's stuff.

These are good, plain and simple words to live by no matter what your religion is.
I wish you all blessings in your lives.
May God watch over you and yours, bless you and keep you in Her care.

I'm with you on this Lois. Imagine we have to have commandments for a modern day. what's so wrong with the originals, right?

Great post.
