Happy Birthday Mom

I know it's been almost two weeks since I have posted anything, but I have been busy with lots of birthdays, movies, family visits, rock hunting with my Cutie Patootie, a baby shower for the newest addition to the extended family, shopping, work and the occasional bout of sleeping. We had an Open House this past weekend for my mom's 80Th (actual was Feb.25) and I feel that it was a successful event. Lots of friends and family stopped by to wish mom a HB and to visit with her. There was lots of food....and I mean LOTS....great music with all my mom's favourites being played, thanks to my little brother K and a slide show of family pictures from past to present, thanks to my sister-by-marriage J. The decorations for the tables were designed by my niece B and lots of picture boards by SBM C, daughter J and myself too. My other SBM did up the gift table with balloons and butterfly's. Another SBM got mom to and from the event (and all her BD gifts & flowers that she was given), arranged for the drink table and brought food and pictures too. Another niece,MA, was in charge of the food and made sure there was enough to feed a small army. She has been sick this past week but she stopped by long enough to make sure the food was being taken care of and visiting for a while before she, her hubby J and their 3 little ones, went home. Hopefully she made it to bed for a well earned rest. My SBM C, had a cake and chocolate suckers made with moms picture on them. Very nicely done C! Of course some of my brothers, C & K, were there as well and helped where needed, being gofer's rather than goofers. They are usually really goofy so it was a nice change....LOL!!! Just kidding! My little sister, A, made sure Hubby John and I got brekkie before we got to the hall that morning, helped to load and unload more food and helped to get food from the pans, to the trays, to the tables and did whatever I asked of her. It sure saved me a lot of time. Hubby John set up and took down tables along with son JV. They unloaded lots of goodies, supplies and ran here and there as needed. Everyone helped clean up afterwards and we were out of the hall by quarter after five, or around that time anyway. It was a great day and my mom enjoyed herself very much.
Without the hard work and effort on everyone in the family this would not have been such a success. SO....thank you to all of you for your hard work, donated food and drinks and for taking time to work on pictures, music, decorations and delivering invitations and emails, setting up and taking down. Thank you to the people who stepped up and headed up the various committees that made sure what needed to be done got done. To all of the immediate family THANK YOU for making mom's day such a success. We all worked so hard and I know mom really appreciates it.
Thanks to all the extended family and friends and neighbours, both old and new, who made the time to drop by and visit with mom (and the rest of the us). You made my mom so happy.
And last but not least, a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY mom.

Sounds like a great time Lois, I remember the party we had for my mother's 80th. Lots of fun, she's 84 now.

I haven't treated my mom for her birthday yet. I want to give her a card since I started learning card making lately but I want to give her more than that. All I want is for her to be happy.
