Much More Interesting.
The bad thing about Pinterest is that you can go on it and loose hours if not days without meaning to. The good thing about Pinterest is the awesome finds you can make. I came across this blog, quite by accident and have added it to my "Blogs That Make Me Go Ohhhh...." . Heirlooms By Ashton House has a lot of things that I like so I will be back to visit it. A big thank you for making a boring day much more interesting.

Lost inCyber Space
I must admit that I have been negligent in posting on a regular basis for some time now. With everything going on in my little cyber world I find my computer time being pulled this way and that. Facebook, emails and shared on-line games are all distractions for me and I must admit that I embraced them with my usual exuberance I have for all things new. I tend to get distracted very easy when I find shiny new things. I was told two different times, once by a ceramics teacher and also by a former teacher (who retired after teaching art for over 45 years), that people who go from project to project and who get bored easily tend to be very artistic and crafty. Not craft as in sly but crafty as in creative. I don't know about that but I do know that I love to do crafts and artsy things. I may not be good at them but I do enjoy them So anyways, a few months ago, well maybe more than a few, I discovered Pinterest. Boy, was that a mistake! Not really! The problem is that what should be a five minute glance seems to turn into a five hour marathon. SIGH. Well today while on my Pinterest marathon I came across the neatest craft blog site. I was totally thrilled with what Ann from Make The Best Of Things had pinned on Pinterest. A tutorial on how to make plastic pieces look like rusted tin. So of course, I had to follow the pin which took me to her blog where I spent a bit of time, I mean a lot of time, going through her posts. I was so glad that happened because it reminded me how much I love to read blogs and how much I really have missed blogging. So I am going to try to be faithful to my blog and all of my "Blogs That Make Me Go OH!" and will get back on the blogging train. I will be trying to keep my feet on the ground, my fingers on the keys and will also try to keep from getting lost in cyber space.

Never Ever Bad
Gee whiz.....you don't blog for 6 months and look what happens.
It looks like I have not been the only one who has been
busy. Google seems to have been busy too!
My blogging posting screen has changed.
Do I like change?
NO!
I am a "smooth and steady and everything in it's place" person.
I do not do well with change.
But I guess if I have been out of the picture for a while I loose
my right to complain......or at least that's what people tell me.
What do they know??? I am still going to whine and complain.
Not for too long though. I really do have better things to do.
Anyway, I hope to be back for good, if possible.
Hmmm...well maybe a little naughty now and then, that could be fun
But not too naughty and never ever bad.

Sweet Bee Buzzings-A New Blog To Read
I just have to stop doing this. Every time I go to one blog I end up following a link to another blog and then .....well....I get hooked! I could easily spend all day, just going from one blog to another, reading the interesting posts and then getting side tracked by following a link left by a blogger comment or by following one posted by the blogger whose blog I originally went onto to read. Sigh.....so many blogs and so little time. Anyway, I have added another blog to my "Blogs that make me go Ohhhhh" list on my sidebar.
Bethany at Sweet Bee Buzzings is a crafty person who likes to work with material. She has done some lovely projects and has posted all about them. Make a cuppa whatever, go over there and read away. I bet you will get hooked too!

Tolen Treasures Tutorial
I have always wanted to do Tole Painting. Unfortunately, paint, brushes and I do not get along very well. I always tend to overload the brush and get paint everywhere but where it is suppose to go. My technique applies to all types of painting....exterior house, interior house, crafts or whatever....it doesn't matter....paint and I are not friends. This being said, I was and still am amazed that I could work with ceramics and have my painted and stained pieces come out looking so nice. I do miss working with ceramic pieces. It was one art form that I was good at, even if I do say so myself. I have a few boxes of bisque pieces packed away, waiting for me to take up my brushes again and hopefully I will get to working on some of them this year. As for Tole painting I have, for years admired anyone who could do it. Judy, my ceramics teacher did beautiful Tole work. I loved it when she would bring a piece to class to let us see what she was working on. I miss my ceramic classes with her and I miss seeing her latest art projects, be it ceramics, making beads, working with glass or tole or oil painting. Judy you are one very multi-talented lady and I miss working with you.
With Tole painting, I love the way the colour gets blended and played with to give depth and a 3D quality to the piece that is painted. I really do enjoy looking at that art form. For the past few years I have been following a blog written by a lovely lady named Cathy. It is called Tolen Treasures and it is on my list of "Blogs that make me go Ohhhhhh". I love Cathy's work. She is such a talented artist. I enjoy reading all about her hectic life as a woman, wife, mother and grandmother and I love it when she posts pictures of projects that she has done or is doing. Cathy.....you ROCK! Cathy has posted a "HOW TO" project on her blogs side bar. If you go here you will get a tutorial on tole painting a Chalk Message Board. That is one project that I am definitely going to try to do this year. There is also a tutorial on a Snowman Board that is another project that I am keeping in mind for this year. I can hardly wait for summer to come. I have to wait till then to try any painting because me and paint do best outside. It keeps Hubby John happy too that way. So go and grab a cup of tea or coffee and drop by and take a look at the tutorial. Then sit back and take a few minutes to read what Cathy has been up to in her hectic life. I promise that you will enjoy every minute of reading her blog.
By the way, don't forget to let Cathy know you dropped by and tell her that Lois sent you.

Sharing a video with you.
One of my "Blogs That Make Me Go Ohhh..." isThe Goddess's Daily Groove. Heike had this neat little video on one of her posts and I thought I would share it with all of my readers. Since I am computer literate only as far as turning on my computer, I am just putting a link to the blog and the video. The video was made by Heike's local United Way chapter. United Way is a world-wide volunteer based organization that raises awareness and monies for many, many different projects in communities around the world. Go and check out the link for the UW site that I have added and highlighted in red. Just type in your postal or zip code then your local chapter will pop up and you can read what's happening with them in your area. UNITED WAY....it's a good thing! So anyway, about the video, pop over and watch the flick. I hope you enjoy it.......I know I did.

My last post was about the Obviously Intelligent Persons (OIP's) who are followers of my blog. I smile every time I say that :) !
But on after thought I realized that not everyone who reads my posts want to be a follower. :(
Sometimes readers like being on the outside looking in. That makes them lurkers.
I have lurkers. I know I have lurkers. Every blogger has lurkers. It can't be helped! Lurkers are there whether you want them or not. Now there is nothing wrong with lurkers. Personally, I like them. They read your posts and may or may not leave a unsigned message and may or may not comment about your blog on their blog if they have one. They are, I think, for the most part, house broken and are, I am sure, computer literate, to various levels. They can turn on a computer and in my book that makes them computer literate. Some lurkers are artists, poets, weavers, stay at home moms, teachers, wives, sons, daughters, husbands, doctors of Medicine, Divinity, Chiropractic, Dentistry and Theory. Some are Canadian, American, British, European, Chinese, Polish, Australian, German and Russian. Some come from far away places and some come from right next door. Some are neat freaks, some not so neat, some like camping while others prefer a resort. Some like broccoli, some like spinach and some like, dare I say it?...liver and onions. All had or have biological parents. Some of them had/have adoptive parents. All, I am positive on this point, were born...none crawled out from under a rock. I think that is physically (not to mention spiritually) impossible. Newborns cannot crawl so the rock thing just doesn't work for me. No lurkers were found under a cabbage in the garden, none were brought by the stork and none were brought by the faeries or Santa or leprechauns in the middle of the night. I would like to think that no lurkers were dropped on their heads at birth or held up by the ankles and slapped by the doctor, or midwife. But I cannot say that for certain. That whole, slap the baby thing just sounds wrong somehow doesn't it? Some lurkers are just in it for the joy of reading, some in it because they are shy, some because they have no time or inclination to join in the conversation. And yes, unfortunately, there are some in it for the thrill of lurking, of being there, in the shadows, on the outside looking in, just because they can.
Lurkers are, I like to believe, regular people, who have busy lives just like everybody else. So what if they don't leave an electronic signature trail? Maybe they don't want lurkers following their blog. Well just think about it. If I went to a lurkers blog and read their posts and didn't leave a comment, I would then become a lurker too. I'm a nice person. I work, I pay my taxes, say my prayers every night and I haven't lost a neighbourhood kid in the front lawn for a dog's age. (we keep the lawn mower in good repair now and the neighbours keep an eye out for anyone heading towards our front yard).
So there you go. I used to be a lurker but now I always let the blogger know I was there.
So to all you lurkers who are reading this post...WELCOME....I'M GLAD YOU LURKED...COME BACK AGAIN SOON.......I HOPE I MADE YOU SMILE!
And if your a lurker sitting at your computer reading this with just your underwear (or less) on.... that's OK too! Do what I do. Make sure your blinds are closed but keep an eye out that the neighbours don't get lost in the lawn trying to look in your window.

It's all in the family.
Here is a picture of my baby boy and baby girl all grown up.Well I am happy to say that my baby boy is following in his younger sister's and the mommies footsteps. My son has started his own blog. All I can say is that it is about time. For those of you who can't get enough of
me -Sweet Somethings by Lois or Jaime -Gingham Skies,
you now have a third choice for great blog reading,
John V.-Get Out Of My Head.
Known as John Vincent to most of the family, he is a terrific son, great husband and doting dad to my cutie-patootie, Neve. Congratulations John Vincent! Welcome to blog land. We're glad your here!
So everybody reading this post should grab a cup of hot tea or coffee or a glass of wine or beer or a bottle of tequila or whatever, sit back and take a few minutes to read some words of wisdom from my baby boy.
John Vincent's mother thanks you.

I'm sorry.
I'm sorry that I haven't been posting regularly lately. It's only because I have been working on my "Blogs that make me go ohhh..." list. If you haven't already done so you can read why I am working on it here. Now the problem with this project is that when I get to a blog, I read the comments and then go to another blog who left a comment on the first blog then when I get there I go to another blog and so on and so on and so on. You know what it's like I'm sure. I could literally spend weeks in my office, blog surfing, never coming out for food or water or fresh air. I could be slumped over my computer weak from hunger and thirst with just enough strength left in one finger to hit the mouse to continue my search for another blog to add to my list. By the time Hubby John realized that I was in the office and not on holiday somewhere without him, I could be dead. He would think the pile of clothes in my chair was just that, a pile of clothes.
He KNOWS how much I hate putting away clothes so he wouldn't take a second glance at the pile until something started smelling. Poor Hubby John....????.. what am I saying.....Poor ME!
Sniff..sniff...runny nose.....tears falling.... I am sure he would be sad I was gone but then again he just might have a bit of a smile knowing he didn't have to share the office anymore. Hmmmm.........maybe I shouldn't give him anymore ideas along this line...ya think?!?
But I digress.....I was talking about my lack of blog posts due to my blog list. I know that I said in a previous post that I was done with the list. But really....when does done really mean done? I never wrote it in stone and I never said that I wouldn't add to the list. So I will continue to add more blogs as I find them but I will also post blogs for your enjoyment more often. Till then...ta ta for now...I have to go. I bookmarked a blog that I just HAVE to check out. SIGH....a bloggers work is never done.

Blog Stuff.
I am sure that in a previous life I must have been a man. SIGH....
Why else would I find reading instructions so boring and confusing?
I suppose if I had actually read the information that Google put on the main page when I log onto my blog I would have known about this stuff earlier.
It's amazing what you can find when you hit the wrong button or accidently touch anything that you really weren’t trying to hit while on your blog.
For instance, I didn't know I had followers. No, they are not stalkers; at least I don't think they are. No they are obviously intelligent people who read what I write. How cool is that? I think it's really cool. Maybe I should get some big sunglasses and a sharpie pen. That way I can sign whatever picture they want me to. Hey, if someone thinks that I look like Katharine Hepburn why not? More likely they will ask if I am related to Granny Clampet. LOL!
Seriously though, I could write a Pulitzer Prize winning blog..... Never say never! Stop laughing...it wasn't that funny.
So, as I was saying, I had followers that I didn’t know about and now I have them listed on my blog. This of course means that I need to start a new list of blogs that I follow on a daily basis which will be different from my “Blogs that make me go Ohh…” list. Oh how exciting this is!
I love lists....they are so good for me. They remember most of the stuff I forget which is always a good thing. If you’re not a list person you should try it. Just a small post it note to start and work your way up. Oh yeah, for those of you who claim you’re not a lister but you use a Palm Pilot, Blackberry or any one of those electronic hand held, or screw it in your ear devices you ARE SO A LISTER. Just because it isn’t written down on paper but it gets listed down in cyber space somewhere does not make it any less of a list.
It just shows you up to date, hip, current, cool, right on, where it’s at or whatever and not old fashioned like the some of us are.
Another thing I discovered by accident today was that if you click on the post labels under your blog it takes you to all the previous posts that you previously posted and assigned that label to. That is cool too! I never knew that and I was very excited to see what I could do with it.
I AM SMILING!!!
It just goes to show that sometimes hitting the wrong button can be a good thing.
So now I am going to spend some time finding out what other little goodies are on the home page. I am leaving while humming...."I'm off to read the wizard the wonderful wizard of blog........
