I Hope You Have A Good Day!

I was doing what I normally do on Sunday when I was surfing different blog sites. Enter, read and silently leave.
I find that people are so much alike in what is important in their lives. Family and friends top the list. What interests they have seems to be next on the list, and how their day/week/month has gone usually follows. It seems that no one is shy about laughing at themselves if/when they have done something that was silly or dumb or just plain stupid. They are proud to wear a "Kick me" or "Looser" sign for everyone to see. It also makes me feel good to know I am not the only one who does these things.
I like that bloggers can laught at themselves. It makes them more like your neighbour. Someone you would wave at or yell "hello" to when you saw them out in their yard, or in the corner store or walking down the street. Mind you, with all the warnings about weirdo's and psycho's out there in cyber land, what we read on a blog could be all lies. I am sure that there are many bloggers who are not what they write. I am not that naive to think that everything I read is the truth. But to think that someone has no life and that they have to pretend and lie so they can have a blog is disturbing. It's sad and I feel sorry for them. There is so much to blog about. I can't believe that someones life can be so devoid of anything that they have to make it up. Just waking up to a new day is something to blog about and if you have a bad day then blog about that too. There is always someone who will be able to relate and they may even leave an encouraging comment. You see? It's not hard to find something real to talk about.
Anyway, what I wanted to say on my blog today, was that I realized that by not leaving a comment on someone else's blog that I happen to read, means that I am not acknowledging that particular blogger. I am not giving them the respect that they deserve for putting their thoughts, dreams and bloopers where I can read them. I am not encouraging them, or giving them a thumbs up or letting them use my shoulder to cry on. So I have decided that I will not longer sneak in and leave silently. I will let them know I was there, even if all I do is say, "I Hope You Have a Good Day!".

I'm trying to lurk less and comment more too mom. :) It's always nice when someone takes the time to type a few words in response to a post isn't it?

Good on you. It's easy to 'lurk', but taking the time to comment is really special, and it makes the blogger feel good too! Although I've also had some pretty awful comments... hence I moderate now. Love the blog! Keep it up!
