"This Is" Theme Of The Week

THIS IS THE PAIR OF SHOES I WOULD SLEEP IN IF I COULD
(You can tell by the picture why I don't do photography as a living.)
This weeks 'THIS IS...." theme
is all about shoes. I could not pick just one pair of shoes to showcase. I have picked one dress pair and one everyday pair. My daughter Jaime, got married last year in Mexico. It took me forever to find a pair of shoes to go with my outfit. The brown leather shoes were the first pair I bought, thinking they would do. They didn't work out but the shoes were so great I kept them as a casual pair. I wore them all over Mexico for dinning, dancing, sight-seeing and shopping. I have worn them almost every day since I bought them. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned in my life. I bought the dress shoes a week before the wedding when I was in desperate mode. I could not find anything suitable for a beach wedding that weren't too casual and that didn't have a spiked heel. Hubby John, came to the rescue and spied these ones for me. They were perfect. They are so pretty. Clear with sparkly rhinestones on the front criss-cross straps. A clear see through heel that wasn't spiked and wouldn't turn my ankle. They were perfect! I can't believe the number of compliments I have gotten on them. So there they both are. I was able to put my best foot forward and had a great time at the wedding. I love both of these pretty and comfortable shoes and this are the two pairs of shoes that I would sleep in if I could.
for the great theme this week.
Extra, Extra, read all about it!
We were asked to post a pre-1985 picture of ourselves this week.
Here are two of my favourites.
(Sorry, I don't have a scanner so I took a picture of a picture and downloaded
it so the quality is not that great.)

This is a picture of me and my dad when I
was either 14 or 15. That would be 1969 or 1970. I love this picture as it is one of the few that I have of the just the two of us. I grew up in a family that had eight kids and that meant that you didn't get much alone time with either dad or mom.

This is a picture of me at age 24, with baby daughter Jaime & son John. It would have been taken in late 1978 or early 1979.
I was married at the young age of 17 (Oct/72), so this picture shows me as an old, married mother of two.

How great to have memories associated with your favourite shoes.

Love the pre 85 shots too. Those glasses are just like the ones my Dad used to wear.
